Honestly, this company started out of frustration — ours and yours. For years, Kenneth and I worked as electrical engineers with the Jamaica Public Service, and the one thing that never sat right with us was watching hardworking people struggle with electricity bills that just kept climbing. We'd hear it all the time — "the light bill kill me this month" — and we felt it.

These weren't strangers. These were our neighbours, our family members, people just like us trying to make ends meet. So after more than a decade on the job, the three of us — Mateos, Kenneth and  Magreeta  — decided to stop just sympathizing and actually do something about it. That's how Matken Electrical and Construction Limited was born.

My name is Mateos Clarke. Kenneth and I are electrical engineers — between us we have over two decades of hands-on experience working with the Jamaica Public Service. However we knew from day one that building something solid meant we needed more than technical know-how.

That's where Magreeta comes in. She has been a legal consultant for years and handles everything on the legal and administrative side of the business, making sure every contract is right, every client is protected, and that Matken operates the way a professional company should. Between the three of us, we cover every angle — and honestly, we wouldn't have it any other way.

We all believe the same thing: quality electrical work and solar energy shouldn't be a luxury.
